Prayer Ministry

QLC shall be a House of Prayer

House of Prayer

“…these I will bring to my holy mountain and give them joy in my house of prayer. Their burnt offerings and sacrifices will be accepted on my altar, for my house will be called a house of prayer for all nations.” (Isaiah 56:7)

Mission Statement

“We submit to Jesus Christ as Head of the church and strive to work, with God’s help, for the church to become a House of Prayer. We will not seek to do our own will or depend on our own efforts, but will humbly seek and wait upon God with a repentant heart, seeking to do His will”

Goals

1. Prayer is a priority in the life of leaders as they pray upward to move the church forward

2. Members having a vibrant relationship with the Lord through renewed personal passion to pray

Quotes:

“They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching & to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread & to prayer….Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes & ate together with glad & sincere hearts, praising God & enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.” (Acts 2: 42, 46 & 47)

“God looks not at the elegance of your prayers, to see how neat they are; nor yet at the geometry of your prayers, to see how long they are; nor yet at the arithmetic of your prayers, to see how many they are; nor yet at the music of your prayers, nor yet at the sweetness of your voice, nor yet at the logic of your prayers; but at the sincerity of your prayers, how hearty they are” - Thomas Brooks

“Without prayer, a church is like a body without spirit; it is a dead, inanimate thing. A church with prayer in it, has God in it. When prayer is set aside, God is outlawed. When prayer becomes an unfamiliar exercise, then God Himself is a stranger there….Prayer should be the chief attraction for all spiritually minded church-goers….As God’s house is, preeminently, a house of prayer, prayer should enter into & underlie everything that is undertaken there”. - E.M. Bounds

“Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus” (1 Thess 5:16 – 18)
