Discipleship Ministry Bulletin Vol 2

Following is the content for the second issue of our bi-monthly Discipleship Ministry bulletin:

Testimonies

When I first joined the DG (Discipleship Group) I thought it was going to be like the usual Bible Study. Read this week’s passages, come back to share and learn. Have His WORD as my anchor as I try to learn the discipline that I sorely lack as a very young Christian. It was a continuing struggle of finding the time to read, record, reflect and respond about the Bible. We meet on Tuesdays and every Monday, it was like OH No, I have to rush through these readings. AGAIN. 18 months down the road, High Quest I and II later, I am a little more disciplined in my AWG .

God’s Word has become a source of spiritual comfort and strength at those important crossroads of my life. I still can’t quote the Bible verses word for word, off my head though; but the deepest experience that hit me during the entire DG experience was the amazing grace to be allowed this little window into the lives of my Christian brothers. God’s Word was no longer something scrawled across the annals of history. It played through the pages of my friends’ lives. You hear their struggles and fears; you get the front row seat when they shared about being humbled; you get wide eyed open at the depth of understanding and thoughts that come with their personal understanding of God’s teaching.

These experiences were so real and raw that they made those passages that I read every week come alive. The structure of the DG the experience reach out to us and connect us at so many levels, personally, professionally and spiritually. It makes me feel that Jesus has really become the cornerstone of my Christian faith and a lot of it is attributed to five MG brother bricks.
